Blueberry Jalapeño Margarita – Couples Cocktail Hour

I recently heard that married couples with children who spend just 15 minutes a day together, uninterrupted, non-logistical, and not focused on problem-solving, are in the top 5% of all married couples. Which is why something like Couples Cocktail Hour just makes sense.

An easy, low-key way to sneak in a mini date night. Here’s what we made:
Nosh: Vandy Chips & Lara Scutters Sour Cream and Onion Dip
Drink: Spicy Blueberry Jalapeño Margarita for Emily (recipe below) , whiskey on ice for Eric

I’ve been wanting to try Vandy chips for a while now because they only use potatoes, beef tallow, and salt. They are good, I do think I would prefer them to be cut with ridges and salted more, but they are still good. Vandy chips are pricey, so if they aren’t in your budget, I receommend Boulder Chips who uses avocado oil instead of seed oils.

And of course, the Lara Scudders and Daisy Sour Cream is ALWAYS the MVP. My mom ships the sour cream and onion dip packets to me because it is that good and I can’t find it in Tennessee. But you can also get it on Amazon.

Jalapeño Blueberry Margarita

This bold and vibrant margarita strikes the perfect balance between sweet and heat. Juicy blueberry syrup adds rich, fruity depth, while jalapeño lime juice brings a just spicy enough. Rounded out with smooth tequila and bright orange notes from Cointreau, it’s a refreshingly unexpected twist on a classic margarita—perfect for summer nights, & cocktail hour.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz tequila
  • 1.5 oz Cointreau or other orange liqueur
  • 1 oz blueberry syrup homemade or store bought
  • 1 oz jalapeño lime juice

Method

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add tequila, Cointreau, blueberry syrup, and jalapeño lime juice.
  3. Shake well until chilled, about 15 seconds.
  4. Strain into a glass over fresh ice.

Notes

I get the jalapeño lime juice from Trader Joes, but you could also use fresh lime juice and muddle a jalapeño slice.
