North Pole Breakfast

A North Pole Breakfast is a tradition that we set up when Reagan was almost 2 years old and Derek was a newborn. We have done it every year since and it is a MUST DO Christmas tradition at our house.

North Pole Breakfast is when our scout elf (Elf on the Shelf) arrives for the first time of the season. Sally brings our holiday decor and sets-up a magical breakfast for our family. She arrives before everyone in the house wakes up, decorates our breakfast table and makes breakfast for everyone so that we all wake up to a surprise. As my kids got older our elf has started to just bring the ingredients for breakfast so she doesn’t get caught cooking.

Sally comes for the first time of the season on the Saturday after Thanksgiving because she can’t make breakfast like that on a school day.

Making It Magical

It doesn’t take much to make it magical. Set the table, pull out any festive plates, bowls, or mugs you have, and sprinkle in some holiday decor. Mini trees, stacks of Christmas books, jingle bell necklaces, ornaments, nutcrackers, cookie cutters, gift tags, and a sign that says North Pole Breakfast all work.

Add your elf and a little note saying “I’m back!” and your golden.

Food

Our elf has always brought us pancakes, bacon, and eggs for breakfast. Sometimes she makes them in cute designs and sometimes she just makes pancakes.

She also brings all the fun and cute treats like hot cocoa stir sticks, marshmallows, chocolate Santas and Christmas Tree cakes. Snacks we usually have during Christmas season, she brings for us. Target always has a good selection.

My favorite final touch it the sprinkle rimmed milk jugs.

Extras

Our elf also brings matching Christmas PJs and a new Christmas book for my kids when she comes. I love that these are given at the beginning of the season so that we can enjoy them all season long.

She also brings special paper to write your letter to Santa. It is shrinky dink paper so that our elf can easily carry it back to the North Pole.
