Homemade Christmas gifts are kind of like wedding favors, most people don’t want them, UNLESS you give a good one and then EVERYONE wants one. Homemade caramel sauce is one of the good ones because it sounds so fancy but it is so easy to make.
Your friends can drizzle it over ice cream, stir it into coffee, or enjoy it straight from the jar (guilty!) or my personal fave dip a Christmas cookie into the caramel sauce, it’s a sweet treat that feels extra special.
Why Caramel Sauce
There’s something about caramel that feels cozy and indulgent. Plus, it’s a crowd-pleaser—who doesn’t love that rich, buttery flavor? With just a handful of ingredients (sugar, butter, cream, and a pinch of salt), you can whip up a batch in no time.
How to Package It
Once your sauce has cooled, pour it into cute little jars, tie them with festive ribbons, and add a personalized label or gift tag. This is the perfect gift for neighbors or an add-on to make gift cards cute and festive (hint hint teacher’s gifts).
I made labels for Christmas or for Boo Baskets, it is a free template that you can edit. Grab it HERE.

Is the caramel sauce shelf stable or does it need to be refrigerated?
From all the research I have done it needs to be refrigerated and will last 2 weeks. I’ve had mine for a month and it is still good.
