Homemade Pumpkin Syrup
I wanted a pumpkin syrup that has fewer artificial ingredients so I decided to make my own. It is shelf stable and I have been adding it to my chai and just regular coffee for a fun fall drink.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 4 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 tbsp pumpkin
Directions
- Mix together the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves.
- Stir in the pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin puree
- Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the syrup thickens slightly.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to a clean jar or bottle. It will keep for up to 2 weeks.
